Corrosion Protection for Roof Panels – DIN 55634-1

With the revision of DIN 55634-1, the requirements for corrosion protection of sandwich panels in Germany have been redefined. For roof surfaces with a pitch of up to 30°, a minimum coating thickness of 35 µm will in future be mandatory – 25 µm is no longer considered state of the art.

In addition, the new protection durability class “VH – Very High” has been introduced. This designation represents an expected protection period of more than 25 years and sets new standards in terms of durability and investment security.

What does this mean for you?

ROMA is not merely responding to the new requirements – we are implementing them consistently.

  • PIR roof panel, Type D: supplied as standard from April with a 35 µm coating on the external facing (applicable in Germany)
  • 50 µm ROMAplus for Type RD or for higher requirements and VH (> 25 years)
  • Corrosion protection for maximum durability and long-term reliability

This ensures maximum service life and long-term investment security for your construction project.

Available Colours and Coatings

The new 35 µm colour finishes are expected to be available from April.
